Buildings don’t create strategy—strategy creates purpose for buildings.

A strategic plan defines why the library exists and how services must evolve.

A building plan defines how space supports that vision.

When aligned, the building becomes a tool for impact.

When they’re not, even beautiful spaces can lock libraries into outdated models.

Strategy should lead. Architecture should translate.

Both matter—but they do different jobs.

A new building won’t fix an outdated strategy—but a strong strategy can future-proof a building.
